The Senior Sales Representative – Microbiology – Northern Region (based North UK) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is part of the Microbiology Team located in the North UK and will be fully remote. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Sales Team and report to the Northern Europe & France Sales Manager responsible for Microbiology. If you thrive in a multifunctional, fast-paced role and want to work to build a world-class Sales organization—read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Identify and "qualify" Microbiology prospects in the ID/AST and Automation fields; assessing customer needs, interests, and clinical qualifications.
  • Drive the agreed sales strategy and implement strategic closing action plan to meet area and country sales objectives.
  • Be the primary contact for customers within the area and meet with customers within a defined call plan.
  • Ensure retention rate is maintained for current customers.
  • Follow-up and coordinate all field activities during the sales process and post-installations of Microbiology products.
  • Negotiate directly with hospital administrators, procurement managers, and laboratory personnel to secure business in a timely manner.
  • Work in conjunction with marketing to resolve customer conflicts by developing and implementing strategies and solutions designed to improve customer satisfaction.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BSc or equivalent qualification in a scientific subject or significant experience in a similar role.
  • 2+ years of experience in direct selling in a similar field (Microbiology).
  • Expert knowledge of Microbiology/Bacterial Identification /Antibiotic susceptibility Testing.
  • An understanding of business management systems, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SFDC CRM tools.
  • Full driving license.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • A consistent track record in meeting and exceeding sales targets.
