Job description

Hotel: Hong Kong TST (HKGKH), 11 Middle Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon

As the Senior / Sales Manager (Leisure), you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Sales to assist with assigned projects and support hotel strategic sales and pricing efforts. You will be tasked with quarterly sales goals that are aligned with our rooms targets. You'll consistently provide a high level of exposure of the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone contact, written communications, and involvement in the community. You'll be the face of Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  1. Collaborating with the Assistant Director of Sales to implement strategies that drive sales
  2. Successfully achieving or exceeding weekly and quarterly individual pace/production goals based on assigned markets and business segmentation
  3. Assisting the Assistant Director of Sales in achieving monthly and year-end budgets and drawing up marketing plans annually for the hotel
  4. Soliciting, negotiating, and booking new and repeat business through various efforts in order to maximize room revenue to meet and/or exceed individual and team sales and revenue goals
  5. Developing new potential business and continually enhancing relationships with key accounts to maintain high visibility and increase market share
  6. Tracking all sales activities including goal-to-current production status using the PMS System
  7. Generating business prospects through sales calls and other initiatives
  8. Conducting site inspections and entertainment, as well as familiarization trips to showcase the hotel’s current product to potential customers
  9. Traveling as needed to complete sales calls and presentations to customers within your region and attending trade shows as necessary
  10. Negotiating and executing contracts that are fair and profitable

What we need from you

  1. A minimum of 6 years of respective area sales experience, preferably in the association market or at least 3 years of hotel sales experience in the Consortia and Luxury Travel segment
  2. A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or equivalent
  3. Strong knowledge of local businesses is required
  4. Strategic thinking and analytical abilities to recognize market trends and opportunities
  5. Well organized with attention to detail, excellent follow-up, and the ability to maintain good client relationships
  6. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  7. Creative, presentable, and self-motivated with a fun and positive personality
  8. Independent and able to work under pressure
  9. Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) is a must; speaking and writing any other languages is an advantage
  10. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Opera, and Delphi is preferred
  11. Less experience will be considered for the Sales Manager (Leisure) position
