Senior Sales Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with a well-known and respected Sheffield engineering business to recruit a Senior Sales Engineer. This key role offers excellent career progression opportunities.

This role involves managing opportunities and enquiries throughout the sales process, with a strong emphasis on understanding customer needs technically and offering suitable products and services.

We seek a unique individual with a background in engineering, combined with excellent commercial acumen and relationship-building skills. Plus, you'll enjoy an early finish on Fridays!

Senior Sales Engineer Role:

1. Identify new opportunities, supporting the Sales Director with existing customers and target businesses.
2. Collaborate with Product Engineers, Contracts, and Supply Chain to follow the enquiry qualification process.
3. Acquire customers by providing products and services that meet their quality, price, and delivery needs, offering commercial solutions with technical support.
4. Conduct technical and commercial negotiations with customers.
5. Handle engineering enquiries and prepare quotations.
6. Arrange face-to-face visits with current and potential customers both in the UK and overseas, and attend trade shows and exhibitions as required.

Skills Required:

1. Engineering background with a strong commercial focus.
2. NVQ Level 3/ONC/HNC/HND in Engineering.
3. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
4. Strong literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
5. High understanding of technical specifications and tender documentation.
6. Proven commercial acumen with strong negotiation skills.
7. Experience in needs-fulfilling and/or consultative sales.
8. Experience in negotiating commercial contracts and T&Cs.
