Job description

Element has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join their expanding team. This role is based at our Hull laboratory and offers a fantastic chance to utilize your skills, experience, and enthusiasm to support Element’s growth into new areas, as we continue to expand our UKAS and CB scopes.

This position will enable the right person to play a key role in developing Element’s safety team, exploring new growth opportunities, and enhancing current capabilities. It is an excellent chance to contribute to helping customers bring innovative products to market and to make tomorrow safer than today.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise, support, and develop test technicians, providing guidance on test requirements to meet business objectives.
• Review and approve test reports and records, manage projects, and communicate with certification teams and customers regarding progress and results.
• Apply technical standards during test planning, reviews, and assessments, working closely with engineering team members.
• Assist the commercial team and support customers with technical queries to meet their needs.
• Help improve test methods, update test procedures, and support scope updates in line with ISO 17025 accreditation.
• Perform or support testing on-site at customer locations or other Element facilities.

Skills / Qualifications

• Qualified to BTEC HND or Degree in a relevant discipline with proven experience in testing and certifying electrical devices.
• Experience working with IEC/EN electrical safety standards such as IEC 62368-1, IEC 61010-1, IEC 60335-1 within an ISO 17025/CB accredited lab.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Team player with personal drive and the ability to complete tasks effectively.
• Effective communication skills at all levels, including with customers.
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage workload efficiently.
• Supervisory experience is advantageous.
