Job summary

ActionAid UK is seeking a Senior Safeguarding Specialist to lead safeguarding strategy and build a strong culture of protection across the organisation. Reporting to the Director of People and Organisational Development, you will shape policies, drive compliance, and influence senior stakeholders to embed safeguarding in all programmes and funding initiatives.

The role requires significant safeguarding leadership, deep PSEAH knowledge, risk management expertise, and a commitment to feminist

Qualifications

• Significant experience of leading safeguarding initiatives, frameworks and investigations within a complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, PSEAH and organisational risk management.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders with confidence.
• Excellent judgement, analytical ability and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to feminist values, anti-racism, equity and the rights of women and girls.
• Passion for creating safe, inclusive and accountable organisational culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and ongoing development of ActionAid UK's safeguarding strategy.
• Provide safeguarding expertise and operational leadership across the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with PSEAH and safeguarding policies.
• Drive integration of safeguarding principles into new funding initiatives and programmes.
• Strengthen safeguarding systems, processes, learning and culture.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, trustees and safeguarding stakeholders to promote best practice.
