Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a skilled data analyst to support WoSCAN CEPAS data delivery and regional reporting. The role focuses on SACT data, clinical outcomes, and information governance within Caldicott-compliant practices, with hybrid working and Gartnavel campus base.

You will work across multiple boards to maximise data utility for service planning, performance monitoring and research, ensuring data quality and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification with substantial numerical, analytical and statistical content.
• Graduate diploma qualification.
• Experience of Information Management in a healthcare environment.
• Specialist knowledge of the organisation’s information requirements.
• Highly developed IT and information analysis skills with in-depth knowledge of R software and NHS data definitions, information standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Day to day management of the information service function relating to SACT and associated services for the region.
• Interact with staff associated with other oncology related information and database systems, inside and outside the West of Scotland.
• Contribute to the design and development of user focused clinical management reports and timely reporting.
• Gather, analyze and present SACT datasets to support health needs, research and audit.
• Support information management aspects of capacity management with focus on SACT data.
• Prepare data and reports for senior management approval in collaboration with CEPAS stakeholders.
• Develop information governance processes enabling data handling within Caldicott rules.
• Support policy development to ensure data quality and consistency.
