Understanding Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a rapidly growing European scale-up to hire a Senior Rust Engineer. The role is hybrid with three days on-site in Liverpool Street, London, and offers up to £110,000 plus a 15% bonus and benefits.

You will architect high-performance systems for coordinating robotic swarms, work on real-time data processing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to connect backend infrastructure with hardware.

Qualifications

• Production experience with Rust or contributions to production-grade open source repos (2+ years).
• Experience with Tokio or other asynchronous frameworks (async.std, Smol).
• Background in C, C++, Core Java; functional languages (Scala, Erlang, Clojure) encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and support reliable high-performance systems for coordinating swarms and handling sensor data.
• Develop streamlined communication methods and real-time data processing tools tailored for robotic platforms.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to connect backend infrastructure with robotic applications and sensor arrays.

We have a new and exclusive partnership with one of the most exciting scale-ups in Europe, who are looking to double in size their engineering team. They have avaluation exceeding 2 billion Euros.

The company builds aerial intelligence hardware and software. They're main focus is the manufacturing of UAV's. Alongside this, they are also developing bleeding edge software that provides actionable insights in defense, security and professional services.

The Rust Team:

This engineering team are focusing on building a greenfield command and control center, designed specifically for unmanned systems.

What you'll be doing:

• Architect, build, and support reliable,high-performance systemsfor coordinating swarms and handling sensor data.
• Develop streamlined communication methods andreal-time data processingtools tailored for robotic platforms.
• Work hand-in-hand with multidisciplinary teams to connect backend infrastructure with robotic applications and sensor arrays.
• Enhance overall system efficiency, expandability, and dependability within distributed robotic setups.

Experience you'll need:
