Job summary

Run-Time Group Ltd in Reading seeks a Senior Engineer (Ruby on Rails) to own architecture for scalable, high-velocity delivery. You will collaborate with Product, Design, Commercial, pricing, and lifecycle teams to evolve high-traffic platforms and introduce AI-driven enhancements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Ruby on Rails in a full-stack environment.
• Strong API design using REST and GraphQL; external integrations.
• Experience with relational stores (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and Redis/Elasticsearch.
• DevOps mindset with AWS/Heroku and CI/CD pipelines; IaC preferred.
• Testing with RSpec/Capybara; TDD mindset; security and performance focus.
• AI/LLM integration experience and product-facing improvement work.
• Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end system architecture for scalable, high-velocity delivery.
• Collaborate with Product/Design/Commercial to translate objectives into technical plans.
• Elevate engineering practices and sustainable delivery processes.
• Lead build-out of high-traffic Ruby on Rails platforms for strong throughput.
• Modernise legacy systems while keeping business operations uninterrupted.
• Introduce AI-powered enhancements to improve customer journeys and ops.
• Coordinate across pricing, quoting, and customer lifecycle domains.
