Job summary

Arm in Bristol is seeking a hardworking, motivated engineer to join a specialist, multi-disciplinary team developing innovative IPs used across Physical AI, Automotive and Edge platforms. You will contribute to high‑quality digital designs powering the next generation of devices.

You will analyze specifications, plan and track tasks with the team, and collaborate with verification, back‑end, timing and power teams to ensure designs meet functional, timing and area targets.

Qualifications

  • Experience with SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL for micro-architecture and RTL design.
  • Ability to navigate design trade-offs and justify decisions.
  • Knowledge of ASIC/FPGA design methodologies and IP sign-off.
  • Experience with static design checks, synthesis, timing analysis and power management.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

We’re looking for a hard‑working, motivated and creative engineer to join a specialist, multi-disciplinary, multi‑cultural team in Bristol, developing innovative and powerful IPs used across multiple lines of businesses ranging from Physical AI, Automotive and Edge to Infrastructure computing. Responsibilities
  • Analyze specifications to understand implementation challenges and collaborate with architects to refine ideas.
  • Plan, track, and coordinate tasks for yourself and your team.
  • Collaborate with verification, back‑end implementation, performance, power analysis, and subsystem teams to ensure the design meets all functional, area, power, performance and CSS‑level integration requirements.
  • Improve design methodology to adapt to evolving needs.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Consistent track record of sophisticated micro‑architecture and RTL design using SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Ability to navigate high‑level design trade‑offs and articulate the rationale behind those decisions.
  • Knowledge of ASIC or FPGA design methodology and IP sign‑off methods with a deep understanding of timing/area/complexity trade‑offs for complex data‑path designs.
  • Experience with static design checks, synthesis, timing analysis, and power management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice To Have Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of memory system interconnect protocols (e.g., AMBA ACE‑Lite or AXI).
  • Familiarity with PCI Express (PCIe), I/O virtualization, and address translation.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and formal verification techniques.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Tcl, C shell, or Python.
  • Understanding of hardware verification languages (e.g., SystemVerilog).
  • Knowledge of Functional Safety methodologies.
