Job summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking a Sr. Staff Manufacturing Engineer to scale Atlas production from prototype to low-volume manufacturing. You will design fixtures and automation, work with hardware teams, and ensure manufacturability and repeatable quality across the assembly process.

The role requires expert CAD skills, Lean/Six Sigma experience, and hands-on tooling development for precision mechanical assembly in a fast-paced robotics environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 8–15 years in process engineering or advanced manufacturing, preferably robotics or complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with DFM/DFA and tool/fixture design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and scale rate production for Atlas from prototype to low-volume production.
• Design production tools, fixtures, jigs, and automation integrations.
• Collaborate with Hardware Engineering on manufacturability and serviceability.
• Define SOPs, work instructions, and training materials for assembly technicians.
• Lead continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma to reduce cycle time and improve yield.
