Job Description:

A great new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Charge Nurse to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in Stockton-on-the-Forest, York area. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.

This is a medium secure psychiatric hospital caring for patients with mental illness and learning disabilities, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder and female services.

To be considered for this position, you must be qualified as a Registered Nurse (RMN or RNLD) with a current active NMC Pin.

As a Charge Nurse, your key responsibilities include:

  • Applying relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital governance framework and communicating these to the team.
  • Ensuring risk assessments and management across the environment meet statutory requirements.
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion, role modeling these values.
  • Identifying skill mix deficits and staffing needs, addressing them accordingly.
  • Supervising team members, contributing to their CPD, mandatory training, and appraisals, and addressing performance issues.
  • Acting as a role model to foster a culture of learning, development, and team vision.

The preferred skills and experience include:

  • Clinical supervision experience (training desirable).
  • Evidence of continued professional development and leadership.
  • Expertise within a clinical specialty.

The successful candidate will receive an annual salary of £48,354.80. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include:
