Located in Edgbaston, close to Birmingham City Centre, Priory Hospital Woodbourne is set in beautiful grounds with easy access to the West Midlands motorway network and good local public transport links.

Our services offer opportunities to develop skills and experience across a broad range of mental health conditions in four service lines, across seven wards.

Woodbourne hospital provides inpatient services including acute and psychiatric intensive care for adults, a specialist Eating Disorder service, and a private addictions service. Our multidisciplinary teams deliver personalized treatment programs and are known for high standards of care.

Job Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct care and interventions to Patients/Service Users, coordinate care with colleagues, and deliver high-quality, safe nursing care in line with the NMC Code. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating person-centered care for physical and mental health needs, supervising junior staff and students, collaborating with the MDT, and maintaining accurate records.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified Registered Mental Health / Learning Disability Nurse with 6-12 months post-registration experience, active NMC registration, and completed preceptorship or equivalent.
• Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Positive attitude, commitment to improvement, and ability to develop innovative practice approaches.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• IT literacy.

Experience

Minimum 6-12 months post-registration experience within Mental Health or Learning Disability Nursing, with evidence of continued professional development.
