Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is central to Amazon's commitment to innovation. As a Senior RME Technician, you will help us stay ahead by adopting the latest technologies and identifying innovative and efficient work methods. Your role will involve monitoring our processes to uphold high standards and implementing upgrades to enhance these standards further.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Perform proactive and preventive maintenance on various site equipment.
  2. Conduct reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse environment.
  3. Utilize advanced tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
  4. Maintain compliance with all health and safety policies and practices.
  5. Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices.
  6. Participate in continuous improvement projects and implement best practices across EU sites.
A day in the life

During each shift, you will lead a team to ensure all equipment is operational and properly maintained. This involves monitoring processes to ensure compliance with regulations and policies, and executing preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime. You will observe operational processes, suggest improvements for efficiency and productivity, and implement these improvements across the EU. Monitoring system performance with tools like SCADA and collaborating with your line manager on administrative tasks will also be part of your daily routine.

This position is based at one of our operational sites. The role requires working in shifts, which may include weekends and nights. As you gain experience, there are opportunities for progression into more senior roles within Amazon.

About the team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team maintains optimal equipment performance. Comprising skilled and collaborative professionals, guided by experienced leaders, we troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment across Amazon’s global fulfillment centers. Our work includes installing automated packaging systems, maintaining site infrastructure, and repairing key distribution machinery, ensuring safety and operational efficiency. We are committed to innovation and continuous improvement, embracing new technologies like Amazon Robotics and complex sorting systems.

Basic qualifications
  • Completed a full engineering apprenticeship and/or hold a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer.
  • Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Proficiency in the local language, both verbal and written.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with condition-based monitoring.
  • Experience working with print and apply machines.
  • Experience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems.
