Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Management Specialist to join a leading organisation in a highly regulated environment. This permanent role offers hybrid working with options to work from the Warrington or Bristol office and from home.

The role covers risk and opportunity management across the project lifecycle, including developing risk plans, producing performance reports, and training delivery teams. UK Security Vetting clearance is required.

• Support delivery teams with risk management training and guidance materials.

Hours: 37 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Senior Risk Management Specialist to join a leading organisation within a highly regulated environment. This is a permanent opportunity offering hybrid working, with flexibility to work from home and from either the Warrington or Bristol office.

Please note: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Vetting (UKSV) clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing Project Risk & Opportunity Management Plans that align with company policies, procedures, contractual obligations, and commercial requirements.
• Performing risk analysis and producing risk performance reports, providing clear conclusions and recommendations to project teams and senior stakeholders.
• Developing, maintaining, and assuring risk models to identify contingency requirements and monitor current project exposure.
• Managing and controlling schedule and cost risk contingencies, ensuring risk management activities align with the organisation's financial and commercial objectives.
• Supporting project delivery teams through the creation and delivery of risk management training and guidance materials.
• Working closely with Project Managers and supporting functions to embed effective risk management practices across the project lifecycle.
• Extensive recent experience within a highly regulated industry (defence sector experience would be advantageous).
• Proven experience in a specialist Risk and Opportunity Management role.
• Knowledge of industry-standard contract forms and methodologies, including FIDIC, NEC3, NEC4, JCT, or similar frameworks.
• Experience managing risk throughout the full project lifecycle, from bid and proposal stages through to project close-out.
• Demonstrable experience developing and maintaining quantitative and qualitative risk models.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Risk Management, Project Management, or a related discipline (desirable).
• Professional certification in Planning, Project Controls, Risk Management, or a related field would be advantageous.
