Job summary

Connells Group is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Manager within the 2LOD Risk function to strengthen enterprise risk capabilities. You will partner with senior stakeholders, embed risk culture, and ensure risk insights inform strategic decisions.

The role involves developing the GRMF, applying risk policies, and delivering executive-level reporting and dashboards to support the Risk Committee and governance forums.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in enterprise risk management within a complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of risk frameworks, governance and regulatory expectations.
• Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders effectively.
• Experience producing executive-level reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Confident, balanced approach to risk: commercially aware without compromising independence.

Responsibilities

• Support development and enhancement of the Group Risk Management Framework (GRMF).
• Drive consistent application of risk policies, standards, and methodologies across the business.
• Monitor risk profile and escalate emerging risks to Risk Committee timely.
• Champion a strong risk culture across the organisation.
• Support training, awareness, and communications to embed risk practices.
• Clarify roles and responsibilities (1st, 2nd, 3rd line model).
• Identify opportunities to enhance risk processes, tools, and reporting capabilities.
• Support automation and digital risk tooling where appropriate.
• Contribute to maturity uplift of enterprise risk capability.
• Lead risk identification and assessment activities across units.
• Ensure risks are articulated, scored, and aligned to appetite.
• Challenge first-line assessments for robustness and transparency.
• Ensure practices align with regulatory requirements and expectations.
• Support control environment assessments and remediation actions.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Internal Audit to minimise duplication.
• Produce high-quality executive-ready risk reports and dashboards.
• Enhance risk MI for forward-looking information.
• Develop risk heatmaps, scenario analysis, and thematic reviews.
• Contribute to Group's RCSA process and resilience programme.
• Oversee tracking of risk events, issues, and remediation actions.
• Escalate material risks and breaches timely.
• Monitor delivery of mitigating actions and address delays.
