Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk Management, Investments team at Marsh. This role will be based in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Senior Risk and Compliance Manager - Investments

We will count on you to :

• Be a key person within the Line 1 Risk and compliance team which is charged with implementing a robust risk management framework for Mercer Investments Australia Limited. This includes being a change leader in this space, responsible for the production of compliance plans, GS007s, review of disclosure and marketing materials for the business.
• This role will be the main point of contact for the wealth management business which sits within the broader Investments business.
• This role will also act as a mentor for more junior members of the team and help the Head of Risk and Compliance team with adhoc projects.
• Assist with breaches and incidents and ensure timely resolution and improvement to control environment. Including any risk advisory which needs to be provided into business teams.
• Ensure appropriate procedures, risk and control guidelines are maintained and adhered to, and identify, update and maintain gaps in controls and procedures and work with the business to come up with solutions for compliance.
• Assist the with maintaining the Mercer Investments Compliance Calendar and assist with the proactive compliance monitoring program for the Investments business.

What you need to have :

• Strong understanding of financial markets and investment management processes, including the drivers behind market movements and knowledge of asset manager processes.
• Risk, Legal or Compliance experience (10+ years) from a funds management or wealth management background
• Tertiary qualification and / or industry specific qualification such as a business, law degree or other equivalent university qualification.
• Strong organisational, analytical, research and administrative skills are a must.
