The Risk Analytics team plays a vital role at MS Amlin in understanding, advising, and reporting on the level of risk being written by the business. It’s a stimulating environment where colleagues use sophisticated modelling and analytics, as well as their expertise in natural and man-made hazards, exposure, and financial terms to partner with underwriters and other stakeholders on business decisions. Outputs from the team are fundamental to determining prices, fulfilling capital requirements, and setting risk appetites.
Within Risk Analytics, the Insurance Catastrophe Modelling team uses exposure management systems and catastrophe models to provide analysis on MS AUL’s catastrophe risk for direct insurance classes, informing underwriters and executives to make better decisions to achieve profit and targets. As a team member, you will work on challenging problems collaboratively, developing your knowledge and career.
About The Job
Inter-business relationships
Collaborate with clients of Risk Analytics to provide clarity and understanding through your expertise.
Support Analysts’ development via coaching, and guide on pricing queries from underwriters in the Property space.
Manage complex Property-related cases, maintain relationships with Underwriting, Claims, and Pricing teams, and challenge existing processes with a continuous improvement mindset.
Handle client and broker relationships professionally, make sound judgments, and proactively build networks.
Analytics and modelling
Lead thought leadership and act as SME for Property classes.
Oversee Property exposure capture and modelling to support underwriting decisions and risk management.
Guide analysis by Genpact and Modelling Analysts, providing insights and managing outputs.
Ensure timely quarterly reporting and analysis, optimize portfolios, and identify data anomalies to aid decision-making.
Lead activities including event response, business planning, and catastrophe projection.
Strategy, Reporting and Governance
Manage reporting activities, support risk management strategy design, and assist in governance processes.
Compliance and Risk Management
Adhere to the company’s ethics and risk management policies, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with business goals.
Support the development of the Risk Management Framework, monitor emerging risks, and report on risk appetites and KRIs to leadership.

What you’ll need:
Strong financial acumen, understanding of Lloyd’s Syndicate market, experience with RMS RiskLink/Sequel Impact, and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SQL. Knowledge of R/Python, ArcGIS, and underwriting tools is beneficial. An undergraduate degree in a related field and relevant qualifications are desirable.
