Job Description

This managerial and strategic role in the Rights Department involves devising and implementing sales strategies to meet and exceed sales budgets, with responsibilities for key international markets for HarperCollins Children's Books and Farshore imprints.

Key responsibilities include selling translation rights across the lists to foreign markets, focusing on markets such as France, Scandinavia, China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea, and working with the Rights team to establish profitable co-edition print runs.

The role requires acting as a Brand Champion of Fiction, summarising Rights feedback, and contributing to P&L reports. It involves liaising with divisions, contributing to department strategy, and attending major book fairs and sales trips.

Additional duties include supporting the acquisition process, providing international sales forecasts, managing administrative tasks, and overseeing team performance to meet income budgets.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in rights, contracts, or production within a publishing house, staff management experience, excellent communication and organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, negotiation skills, and familiarity with print production processes. A hybrid working model (3 days in the office) is in place, along with various benefits such as private healthcare, summer hours, wellness programs, and employee networks.
