Job summary

MDA Space is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in delivering satellite payloads for diverse orbits. You will lead RF system and circuit design, perform simulations and testing, and contribute to link budgets and manufacturing packages.

You will apply 10+ years of RF experience in high-reliability environments, with knowledge of LEO/GEO payloads and RF verification. A hybrid work model supports flexible collaboration across our global teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ RF engineering experience, Space or high-reliability sector.
• Knowledge of LEO/GEO communications payloads.
• Experience with circuit and PCB design and RF simulation tools.
• Specialist knowledge in high-reliability design/analysis, spacecraft link budgets, SI/ radiation effects and EMI/EMC standards.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team developing satellite telecommunication payloads for various orbits.
• RF system and circuit design, simulation and testing; link budget support.
• Detailed circuit design including schematic capture, component selection and EM simulation.
• Engineering analysis (Derating, Worst Case, Reliability, Radiation, EMI/EMC) and documentation.
• Direct in-house and 3rd party PCB layout design coordination.
• Deliver prototype and manufacturing packages.

Responsibilities

• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers developing satellite telecommunication payloads for a variety of orbits
• RF system and circuit level design, simulation and testing
• Supporting link budget analysis
• Detailed circuit design including schematic capture, component selection, circuit analysis and EM simulation
• Engineering analysis and documentation (Derating, Worst Case, Reliability, Radiation, EMI/EMC Analysis, FMECA, Power Budget)
• Directing in-house and 3rd party PCB layout design teams
• Delivering prototype and product quality manufacturing packages

Required Skills And Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in a RF engineering role, in the Space or an equivalent High Reliability sector
• Knowledge of LEO/GEO communications payloads
• Experience of circuit and PCB design and RF simulation tools
• Specialist knowledge in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
• High reliability design and analysis (Space, Military, Automotive, etc)
• Spacecraft link budgets
• Signal integrity analysis
• Electronic circuitry radiation effects and mitigation techniques
• Knowledge of environmental, thermal, safety and EMI/EMC standards
