ECM Selection is seeking a Senior Data Research Scientist to lead applied RF engineering work and advance signal processing pipelines. The role focuses on RF/ML in a defence-related, high-security environment and requires a strong PhD and hands-on experience with SDRs and DSP.
The position is onsite near the Cambridgeshire border, with travel limited to local commutes. Publications or patents in RF-ML are highly valued, especially for drone/autonomy applications.
Interested in national security and the defence sector? This applied AI start-up has proprietary technology around ML modelling for RF signal characterisation and modification. Their solutions have significance for military applications and infrastructure security around drone detection.
They are looking to recruit a Senior Data Research Scientist to take a leading role on their applied RF engineering work and help advance their signal processing pipelines, and ultimately develop next generation prototype technologies.
You’re likely be a PhD holder in electronics, physics or computer science and have significant skills and experience in the following areas:
Due to the engineering aspects of projects, the ability to confidently use RF lab equipment (spectrum analysers, signal generators) would be desirable. Similarly, any exposure to embedded or real-time systems; MATLAB, C++ or Rust; or RF circuit fundamentals would be beneficial.
Your application would significantly stand-out if you have publications or patents in RF-ML, especially relating to drone / autonomous technologies.
Due to the nature of projects, the role would be fully onsite at offices based close to the Cambridgeshire and Essex border (commuting by car from Cambridge, Chelmsford, Royston, Bishop's Stortford is all possible). You must be eligible for security clearance (ideally previously obtained such status).
On offer is an excellent opportunity to join this start-up, work with like-minded people on interesting projects with real world applied impact.
