A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Senior Respiratory Physiologist to join their Respiratory and Sleep Physiology team. The role involves performing lung function tests, initiating CPAP therapy, and overseeing junior staff. Successful candidates will have a BSc in Respiratory Physiology and ARTP qualifications. The position offers developmental opportunities and is based in Burton with rotations across various sites.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Respiratory and Sleep Physiology team at UHDB for a senior respiratory physiologist. This role involves performing and reporting full lung function tests, CPAP initiation and follow up and analysing and interpreting sleep studies. As well as overseeing more junior staff in both respiratory and sleep investigations. Part of the role is to ensure the smooth running of respiratory diagnostic services across the UHDB sites including the community diagnostic centres. Training will be provided in more specialist areas of testing including non invasive ventilation (NIV).
We are looking for motivated individuals to join the respiratory physiology and sleep team. We have a great team, therefore experience of teamwork is essential to ensure the smooth running of services within respiratory and sleep physiology.
The job will be based at Queens Hospital Burton with rotation across community hubs and other UHDB sites. Applicants who have recently qualified are welcome. UHDB offers a developmental Band 6 role if post-graduate experience to hit a senior level is not yet available, with support to develop skills in sleep study analysis, reporting junior colleagues’ lung function, as part of a Band 6 annex 21 developmental role. Further discussions about this could be had at interview if shortlisted.
