Job summary

LRQA is seeking a Resource Scheduler in the UK to coordinate skilled resources across client engagements. You will ensure requirements are understood, resources allocated correctly and records kept up to date.

Collaborating with Resource Management, Account Management and Delivery teams, you will support utilisation, order-book conversion and delivery readiness while maintaining a consistent client experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in resource scheduling, project coordination, workforce planning or a comparable operational role.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing requests and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret resource requirements and match work to the appropriate skills and availability.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential or commercially sensitive information.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using CRM, scheduling or resource-management systems.
  • Knowledge of URS or D365 is desirable.
  • Experience within cybersecurity or professional services is desirable.

Within LRQA Cyber, effective resource scheduling is essential to ensure client engagements are delivered on time, with the right skills, availability and operational controls. Reliable scheduling supports client delivery, utilisation, order-book conversion and revenue realisation.

Role Purpose

The Resource Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling suitably skilled resources across client engagements.

The role manages work from approved demand through to confirmed delivery, ensuring requirements are understood, the correct resources are allocated, records are accurate and scheduling risks are escalated promptly.

The role works closely with Resource Management, Account Management, Delivery, Sales Verification, Finance, consultants and clients to support utilisation, order-book conversion, delivery readiness and a consistent client experience.

Key Responsibilities
Resource Scheduling and Delivery Readiness
  • Confirm the required skills, availability, location and client-specific requirements before allocating resources.
  • Process resource allocation requests within agreed internal service levels and assign resources with the appropriate capability.
  • Monitor project timelines, scheduled bookings and delivery readiness, escalating risks or constraints promptly.
  • Coordinate required authorisations, purchase order information and supporting documentation before delivery starts.
Client and Stakeholder Coordination
  • Liaise with Account Managers and Delivery teams regarding resource availability, priorities, dependencies and delivery risks.
  • Liaise with clients to confirm scheduled bookings, delivery timelines and agreed changes.
  • Communicate applicable terms relating to postponements and cancellations.
  • Provide clear scheduling updates and regular reporting to operational and commercial stakeholders.
Utilisation, Order Book and Controls
  • Support utilisation objectives by balancing client priorities, skills and resource availability.
  • Monitor unscheduled and at-risk work, support order-book conversion and escalated constraints that may affect client commitments or revenue realisation.
  • Maintain accurate booking, resource and engagement records across relevant CRM, scheduling and operational systems.
  • Ensure the correct resource skill level is considered for every assignment.
Confidentiality and Continuous Improvement
  • Handle client, personnel and commercially sensitive information securely and in line with LRQA policies and contractual requirements.
  • Identify recurring scheduling issues and support improvements to processes, controls, data quality and ways of working.
  • Work independently, prioritise competing requests and escalated matters to the Resource Management lead where appropriate.
Key Health and Safety Responsibilities
  • Assess risks and work safely at all times, following LRQA health and safety policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Refuse to undertake work that compromises personal safety or health.
  • Report incidents, accidents, injuries, hazards, near misses and safety observations promptly.
  • Raise health and safety concerns with the line manager.

Technical and Professional Requirements
