The Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will work alongside managers to oversee daily home operations, ensuring smooth day and night shifts. You will support children directly, mentor staff, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Support Workers and Waking Night Support Workers.
  • Lead shifts, ensuring tasks are completed effectively.
  • Build positive relationships with children, providing emotional and practical support.
  • Assist in staff training and development, promoting best practices.
  • Support the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children.
  • Provide emotional support during night awakenings.
  • Maintain meaningful records of children's progress.
  • Organize activities to create happy memories for children.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience working with children and young people in similar settings is essential. You should have strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly. Leadership qualities to guide and mentor a team are also required. Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays is necessary.
