Job summary

Catering in Bury is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker for its childrens home. You will lead the team, provide high-quality care to children and young people, and help create a safe, nurturing environment while supporting emotional and practical development.

The role involves taking a lead within the home, working with safeguarding requirements and individual care plans, and mentoring staff to deliver consistent care across shifts. Prior experience in residential childcare is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.

• Act as a positive role model for the home.
• Support staff within the home and provide guidance when required.
• Complete accurate records, reports and handovers.
• Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Work alongside managers and external professionals.
• Promote independence and help young people develop life skills.
• Take responsibility for the home and young people during shifts when required.
