The Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will work alongside managers to oversee daily operations of the home, ensuring smooth running of day and night shifts. You will support children directly, mentor staff, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead Support Workers and Waking Night Support Workers, providing guidance and support.
  • Manage shifts, ensuring tasks are completed effectively.
  • Build positive relationships with children, offering emotional and practical support.
  • Assist in staff training and development, promoting best practices.
  • Support the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children.
  • Provide support to children during the night, addressing concerns or anxieties.
  • Maintain detailed and meaningful records of children's progress.
  • Create opportunities for children to make happy memories.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience working with children and young people in similar settings is essential. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, patience, calmness, and leadership abilities to guide a team effectively. Willingness to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays is required.
