Joining Careers Education in Wakefield is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to support young people in our homes, helping with daily life, hobbies, health and safety, safeguarding and staff supervision.

You will lead shifts, support induction, promote welfare, and contribute to their development while benefiting from a Real Living Wage employer and ongoing professional development through the Education Academy.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential care or youth work.
• Ability to lead shifts and supervise staff.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support young people in daily life within our homes, including hobbies, social activities and learning new skills.
• Lead shifts, supervise colleagues and manage the home in the absence of the Deputy or Manager.
• Ensure health and safety processes, risk assessments and induction of new staff; uphold safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.

Job Introduction - Senior Residential Support Worker.

About the role: As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support young people in the many different aspects of daily life within our homes including:

• Helping young people continue with hobbies, social activities, and friendships, and learn new skills..
• Supporting young people to reach their potential and experience new opportunities.
• Conducting Supervisions for staff members
• Manage the home effectively in the absence of the Deputy or Manager
• Effectively lead shifts, direct and support colleagues
• Manage health and safety processes in the home including the implementation and monitoring of risk assessments
• To support the induction of colleagues into the home
• To be responsible for safeguarding and actively promoting the welfare of children and young people
