Job summary

Sgscare is seeking a Senior Residential Practitioner for a brand-new Children’s Residential Home in Leigh, Greater Manchester. You will oversee shifts, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality care for children aged 5–18 with EBD.

The role reports to the Deputy and Registered Managers and requires leadership, safeguarding, and collaborative teamwork. The position offers a full-time, permanent contract with progression opportunities and a strong ethos of compassion and professional development.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care is highly desirable.
• Willingness to complete additional units in Children's Residential Care if only Level 3 in Adult Social Care.
• 1 year minimum experience in a Senior or Team Leader role; residential childcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee each shift and provide first-line management and supervision to Residential Practitioners on duty.
• Ensure children and young people receive the best possible care and support.
• Report to the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager and act in their absence.
• Lead and delegate tasks, maintain safeguarding and care plans, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
