Chadwick Nott is seeking a Legal Director – Residential Conveyancing in Gloucester, Hybrid role. You will act as the firm’s senior technical authority, lead the practice, and shape the technical direction while guiding a team of qualified and qualifying lawyers.

The role emphasizes coaching, quality assurance, and strategic decision making within a fast-paced transactional environment, with a strong focus on leadership, career development, and client delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years’ experience running a complex residential conveyancing caseload.
• Strong technical expertise across sales, purchases, remortgages, leasehold and SDLT.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor team members.
• Experience contributing to senior management or strategic decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction of the residential conveyancing practice.
• Ensure all legal work is accurate, compliant, and commercially sound.
• Design and deliver a technical development pathway for lawyers and trainees.
• Coach, mentor and share knowledge across the team.
• Oversee and improve quality assurance systems and processes.
• Provide strategic oversight, performance development, and career support.
• Represent the firm at industry events and in trade body groups.
• Collaborate with IT and Business Development to enhance client delivery.
