You will provide vital support to the emotional and social development of children, manage behaviour, and lead a cohesive team to deliver high-quality care. Qualifications include a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People. Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Childcare Practitioner to help set up our own residential children's home within the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough. This is an exciting time to join the local authority as we begin to establish a residential arm to support some of the children and young people in our care.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be essential in providing a safe and secure environment for children and young people. Your responsibilities include supporting their emotional and social development, managing challenging behaviour, and understanding early childhood trauma and its effects.
Team Leadership:
The senior position will be part of the management team, supporting the Manager and guiding staff to deliver the best care. You will help establish a cohesive team focused on high-quality care.
Qualifications:
The role requires the Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People or an equivalent qualification.
Additional Details:
The care is provided 24/7, and sleep-in shifts are required on a rota basis. Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
