Job summary

SRVO is seeking a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join our residential-focused team. You will deliver robust defect diagnostics, prepare high-quality reports and specifications, and lead projects from feasibility through to completion while balancing site inspections with client communications.

You will supervise and mentor colleagues, manage programmes and budgets, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. This home-based role supports projects across Manchester and Leeds.

Qualifications

• Strong track record delivering residential surveys, defect diagnosis and refurbishment projects.
• Experience preparing specifications, running tenders and administering JCT contracts.
• Familiarity with fire and building safety remediation, compliance and risk management.
• Competence with digital surveying tools, reporting platforms and data-led decision making.

Responsibilities

• Plan and undertake site inspections and prepare high-quality technical reports.
• Lead contract administration, tenders and contractor oversight through to completion.
• Develop scopes, specifications and schedules of work for maintenance and refurbishment.
• Manage programmes, budgets, risks and stakeholder expectations across multiple live instructions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and CDM duties.
