Job Description:

The Department of Earth Science and Engineering (ESE) is seeking an innovative and highly skilled Senior Research Software Engineer to enhance our computational and data science research capabilities. You will leverage high-performance computing, cloud computing, and software engineering to optimize our internal HPC cluster, streamline operations, and foster collaboration.

As a Senior Research Software Engineer, you will drive the adoption of computational and data science-based research and teaching. Your responsibilities include defining and implementing software engineering practices, designing deployment and monitoring solutions, maintaining code bases, and collaborating with researchers, academics, and IT specialists to promote innovation and standard methodologies.

You will manage projects related to software engineering, high-performance computing, and security, working with Imperial College ICT's RCS and supporting senior colleagues. Your role involves employing best practices, staying updated with technical developments, and promoting research community standards.
