Are you a dynamic research nurse with a passion for improving care and treatments through research and clinical trials? Are you a leader that wants find new ways of delivering clinical research across Lancashire and South Cumbria? If so, this is the role for you!
We are looking to recruit an experienced research nurse to join our enthusiastic clinical research delivery team. Based in the GOLD STAR NIHR Lancashire Clinical Research Facility you’ll work with a team of dedicated colleagues that are passionate about clinical research delivery and improving patients care and experience. The facility is a welcoming and bright space to work and treat patients.
To ensure the provision of excellent care with compassion the Senior Research Nurse will be responsible for:
· Leading and developing a portfolio of clinical trials and research studies, mainly in cancer
· Leading the development of a ‘Hub and Spoke’ network within Lancashire and South Cumbria
· Provide clinical and research expertise and be responsible for the organisation and delivery of cancer clinical trials across Lancashire and South Cumbria so that standards of professional and regulatory practice are in place and monitored to ensure patients on cancer clinical trials receive high quality care. This will involve building relationships with research colleagues in a number of NHS Trust across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
· Developing and training colleagues to deliver complex clinical trials across Lancashire and South Cumbria
· Being a visible and strong role model providing leadership and direction to the team, providing clinical supervision and advice for staff and students in order to support them in reaching their full potential
The NIHR Lancashire Clinical Research Facility (LCRF) is a dedicated space within Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that supports the delivery of high-quality clinical research. As part of the LCRF team, you’ll be contributing to cutting-edge research that improves patient care and advances medical knowledge.
You’ll work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside research nurses, clinicians, and administrative staff. The facility is patient-focused, and your role will help ensure that research participants have a safe, comfortable, and positive experience.
The role will encompass both managerial and clinical components. You’ll work in close collaboration with investigators, research and clinical teams both internally and within Lancashire and South Cumbria integrated care system (ICS) to support and deliver safe clinical trial activities, mainly delivering cancer studies.
As the manager of a small team, you’ll be responsible for the workforce and performance management. This will involve developing the team objectives to enhance the performance and development of research within the department and ICS.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
