Job overview

This role is a maternity leave cover and is suitable for an experienced research nurse who has worked in a clinical research environment on a broad range of projects.

The post holder will work for the NIHR Oxford Clinical Research Facility (CRF), which has a growing portfolio covering all specialties. The facility is a collaboration between the University of Oxford and OUH NHS Trust, part of a network funded by the NIHR.

The role mainly involves working in the Experimental Medicine Clinical Research Facility (EMCRF) based on the Churchill site, with potential work in other CRF locations within the Trust.

The post provides leadership in experimental clinical research, promoting high standards of nursing care and contributing to service development, practice, and staff development.

Main duties of the job

You will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver the clinical research portfolio. The role requires research experience and leadership skills. Daily management of activities within the facility and supporting the operational management of the wider portfolio are key responsibilities. The role is primarily ward/clinical-based but includes some administrative work.

You will ensure research projects are completed successfully and on time, supporting project management and team studies.

Organization and attention to detail are essential. You will be involved in ongoing and new studies and supported in professional development opportunities.

Experience
  • Experience in nurse leadership and management in a specialist area.
  • Knowledge of NHS issues and clinical research infrastructure legislation.

  • Registered Nurse (Part 1, 8, 12, or 15 of the register) or national certification.
