Sector: Research and Development

Role: Senior Executive

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time

Do you have a passion for finding out what makes customers tick? As our Senior Research & Insights Manager, you'll turn data into gold dust that helps us craft propositions, products and services our customers will love. You'll fuel bold thinking, spot the trends before they hit the mainstream, and help us make decisions that are as smart as they are customer-obsessed.

Our Virgin Family

Join the Virgin Group - a diverse collective driving change, enhancing customer experience, and having a blast. We're daring, disrupting industries from finance to space, united as part of the Virgin Family.

Virgin Red and Virgin Management are the dynamic core of the Virgin brand. We reward our loyal customers with Virgin Points through an extensive partner network, nurture the Virgin brand globally across diverse industries like travel, health, and space, and champion customer-centric innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. Together, we unlock unique experiences, foster deep customer connections, and drive our purpose forward.

We're a huge brand, but not a huge team, which means we take a hands-on approach while thinking strategically. Everyone rolls up their sleeves to get things done, making it an exciting and collaborative place to work.

Responsibilities:

  • Level up our customer understanding using primary and secondary research, with a focus on Product, Experience, Marketing and Partnerships.
  • Drive a joined-up view of the customer - from curious prospect to loyal member - by working hand-in-hand with Insight, Analytics and Data Science.
  • Shape business cases by commissioning smart research that sizes up opportunities and backs bold ideas with real-world insight.
  • Optimise propositions with clear, evidence-based guidance on what customers really want (and what they don't).
  • Turn insight into action, deliver sharp, actionable recommendations teams can rally behind.
  • Unlock brand and commercial opportunities through bespoke projects, including collaborations with Virgin Companies and key partners.
  • Champion the voice of the customer - evolving how we gather and use feedback to drive stronger experiences and better outcomes.

What you'll need:
  • Clear and confident communicator - Able to cut through complexity and deliver insight in a way that's easy to grasp and engaging, whether it's for frontline teams or senior leaders.
  • Data-savvy and commercially sharp - Comfortable with numbers, fluent in stats, and experienced in a wide range of quantitative research techniques.
  • Inspiring and strategic thinker - Sees insight as part of a bigger picture, not a standalone function.
  • Empathetic and people-smart - Understands how research can land with different audiences.
  • Analytical to the core - Comfortable getting into the weeds of data and methodology.
  • Proven research expert - Brings deep experience across methodologies like drivers analysis, SEM, expectancy theory, conjoint, Gabor-Granger, max diff and TURF.
  • Supportive team leader - Has managed direct reports and knows how to build capability in others.
