CMVM/ The Roslin Institute/ R(D)SVS

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Open-ended: permanent contract

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a UE06 Senior Research Funding Administrator to provide pre- and post-award support to academic researchers and investigators of The Roslin Institute and Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies (R(D)SVS) on the Easter Bush Campus.

You will take a leading role in providing specialist and expert support to academic investigators and researchers on a diverse portfolio of research projects. You are responsible for the research funding applications in a fast-paced, deadline-driven role, through to the point of set-up. You will also be responsible for the delivery of post-award grant management, including support for resource management and reporting on the projects.

This role involves capturing and analyzing the finance and resources of externally funded research activities, influencing the overall finance and resources position for both The Roslin Institute and R(D)SVS on the Easter Bush Campus.

This is a full-time position (35 hours per week). We are open to considering flexible working patterns and hybrid working arrangements (combining remote and on-campus work) on a non-contractual basis.

Your skills and attributes for success:
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualifications plus relevant grants administration/accounts experience within the HE sector, demonstrating progression in demanding roles
  • Excellent accountancy and numeracy skills, with knowledge of job costing and financial/budget modeling
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to persuade and negotiate
  • High analytical and organizational skills, with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to working in a busy, varied role with a focus on service delivery
