The post holder will contribute to implementing principled machine learning, mentor researchers, and help shape the Lab’s scientific direction while reporting progress to the SOFAIR team at UCL.

Qualifications

• The role requires conducting internationally excellent research in foundation models.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration across ML, statistics, CS and related disciplines.
• Familiarity with principled machine learning approaches and current frontier frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Undertake internationally excellent research as a SOFAIR fellow/postholder.
• Develop and test non-incremental advances in next‑gen foundation models at scale.
• Contribute to SOFAIR’s research culture, collaboration, mentoring and governance.
