Overview

The Senior Research Facilitator for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) will provide proactive support and leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of research and innovation initiatives across AHPs teams. The post-holder will work closely with clinical teams to embed a culture of research, innovation and evidence-based practice, ensuring that AHPs are empowered and encouraged to carry out research, which is either led from within therapy areas, or contributes to research led both within and external to Barts Health. They will also hold a small clinical caseload in relevant area of expertise. This role is critical in enhancing the research capability and capacity of therapy professionals within Barts Health and ensures that therapeutic interventions are guided by the best available evidence. The post holder will support the Clinical Academic Program Lead and the Associate Director for Therapies Research to deliver the wider Allied Health Professionals (AHP) research strategy across the group, and deputise when appropriate and required.

Position and base

Your primary base will be The Royal London Hospital. However, you will be expected to visit all Barts Health hospitals. There is also flexibility for you to work from home where appropriate.

Role context and duties

The Senior Research Facilitator for AHPs will be based with the Barts Research AHP Faculty. The post holder will lead the development and implementation of a strategy for embedding research, developing the culture and building research capacity within therapies. They will be expected to play an active role in the support of building research opportunities, including the delivery of research internships, build clinical academic careers working closely with the Therapies Clinical Academic Program Lead, and Associate Director for Therapies Research. The post holder will be required to support others within therapies to develop research within both NHS and commercial landscape. The post holder will promote NIHR Clinical Academic Pathways and support staff applications.
