Job summary

GKN Aerospace in the UK seeks an engineering professional to drive technical project delivery at the Luton site, supporting ice protection systems and aerospace components. You will manage budgets, lead testing, and coordinate external work packages while ensuring quality and safety standards across programmes.

We expect a strong engineering background, experience with lean and Six Sigma, and excellent communication to liaise with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Requires engineering or science degree with strong technical foundation.
• Experience managing budgets on a work package level or smaller streams.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Familiarity with APQP/PPAP processes and AS9145 industry standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to plan, cost and deliver complex projects on time.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical project deliverables and work packages while ensuring research objectives are met.
• Lead or support hands-on development testing and trials to meet delivery milestones.
• Coordinate external work packages with third parties to achieve research goals.
• Capture and document data and results from tests and trials with high accuracy.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and reports.
• Engage with stakeholders and contribute to funding proposals as needed.
• Support development plans and ensure alignment with TEF objectives.
