Job summary

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Research Data Expert to join our Data team. You will own a specific area of expertise, building and maintaining fully featurized datasets for statistical modeling research to support trading strategies.

You will mentor junior data engineers, collaborate with researchers, and manage the full end-to-end pipeline from vendor downloads to trading-ready data, ensuring high-quality data delivery and rigorous checks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in a dedicated data domain (e.g., alternative data, fundamentals, security reference, or economic data).
• Strong programming skills in Python or R and data science methodologies.
• Undergraduate STEM degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain fully featurized datasets for statistical modeling research.
• Serve as SME for a designated data domain and mentor junior engineers.
• Manage end-to-end data pipeline from vendor ingestion to refined feature sets.
• Provide on-call support and implement automated data quality checks.
