Job summary

University of East Anglia (Norwich Medical School) invites applications for a Senior Research Associate to work on a BHF-funded project. You will conduct studies using hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, perform transcriptomics and proteomics analyses, and contribute to grant applications while supervising junior researchers.

A postgraduate qualification and strong data skills are essential. The role is full-time, fixed-term for 7 months, starting 2 November 2026.

Starting salary from £38,784 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £46,049 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Associate join Norwich Medical Schooltoconduct studies as part of BHF funded project. This postdoc position is available at the University of East Anglia, collaborating with partners at the Universities of Liverpool and Nottingham. This project will use genetically engineered cardiomyocytes derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC-CMs), coupled with functional analysis, transcriptomics and mass spectrometry proteomics, to understand novel roles for small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) as disease modifiers in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and heart failure. As a Senior Research Associate you will contribute ideas and/or enhancement of techniques or methodologies. You will analyse and interpret data, write up results and present information on research progress and outcomes. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to grant applications and may be involved in the supervision of researchers and teaching of students within the School.

You will have a postgraduatelevel qualification, equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant research area. You will also have experience of independentresearch, have publications in respected journals or equivalentwithin the field and be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment. You will also have stronginterpersonaland communicationskills, with the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Advanced skills directlyrelating to this research area and experienceteaching small classes and/or overseeing practiceswouldbe advantageous.
This full-time post is available from 2 November 2026 on a fixed term basis for 7 months.
