Unknown University in the North East of England is recruiting a Senior Research Associate to join our research team. You will lead and conduct mechanical, electrical and hydraulic design for the ECHO glider, based at the Newcastle Marine Autonomous Vehicle Lab and Blyth Marine Station.

Candidates should have a background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering with experience in underwater vehicles, buoyancy engines, and control systems.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering with underwater vehicle development.
• Familiarity with buoyancy engines and underwater vehicle design, operation and control.
• Able to lead and conduct R&D work in collaboration with ABMHydro.

Responsabilités

• Lead mechanical, electrical and hydraulic design, analysis and testing for ECHO glider.
• Collaborate with the ABMHydro team on autonomous underwater glider projects.
• Work on-site in the Newcastle Marine Autonomous Vehicle Lab and Blyth Marine Station.
