Senior Research Analyst (Collectives)

Description

Work with the Collectives Research Team to produce and manage a comprehensive list of preferred funds and work proactively with the firm’s investment managers. The job holder will have good knowledge of both open and closed-ended funds, including passive products. The role requires investment leadership to ensure robust and consistent processes underpinning the suite of recommended third-party funds published for use by the investment network.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a consistent approach to external funds by researching existing options and generating new ideas, supporting the investment network
• Liaise with the Investment Office and Collectives Committee to maximize sharing of research resources
• Assist with JM Finn’s Sustainable and ESG research processes
• Maintain fund rationales
• Ensure portfolios hold the most appropriate share/unit classes, including onboarding new clients and portfolios
• Participate in Morning Meetings and provide written investment commentaries
• Contribute to the Asset Allocation Committee
• Provide content for publications as required by Marketing
• Maintain existing relationships with business introducers and develop new ones in coordination with Sales and Marketing
• Stay updated with market and investment information, maintaining professional knowledge and acting upon relevant developments
• Ensure governance arrangements support fund selection processes
• Embed FCA’s Consumer Duty requirements within the fund selection process

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• CFA Level 3 or equivalent qualification
• Degree-level education
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in collectives research
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Up-to-date knowledge of markets, asset classes, stocks, and funds
• Proven track record in contributing to collective investment selection
