Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Home-based Service Engineer to cover the Yorkshire region from Thirsk. You will maintain and repair industrial drainage pumping equipment, install and commission systems, and perform electrical fault-finding on both submersible and surface pumps.

The role requires a City & Guilds 2330 Level 3, 17th/18th Edition, and a valid driving licence. You will work on a rota for on-call duties, with a competitive package and benefits.

Qualifications

• Electrically qualified to City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 or industry equivalent, including 17th/18th Edition.
• ECS/JIB Gold Skills Card holder.
• Good knowledge of pumps and pumping systems, 3-phase electrics, fault finding and testing of electrical components/panels to 18th Edition.
• Full driving licence required.
• Able to use a PDA system and customer management logging.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair industrial drainage pumping equipment within the assigned region.
• Install, service and refurbish submersible and surface pumps, controls, pipes and valves.
• Conduct electrical and physical surveys of control equipment; report defects.
• Isolate, dismantle and inspect pumps and lubrication points.
• Carry out planned and reactive service visits; on-call evenings/weekends as rota'd.
• Travel by company vehicle; lift equipment and work outdoors in varied conditions.
