Job summary

Toyota Connected Europe Limited in London is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead product and regulatory compliance for Europe. You will advise Product, Engineering and Data teams on regulatory obligations across data, digital services, AI and cybersecurity throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires practical, business-minded guidance, strong written and spoken English, and the ability to translate complex regulation into clear requirements for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ post‑qualification experience as a lawyer.
• Significant experience advising on technology, digital products, data or regulatory matters.
• Working knowledge of EU Data Act and EU AI Act, plus data protection requirements.
• Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, Data and other teams.
• Ability to interpret evolving regulation and translate into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Advise on legal and regulatory requirements across product lifecycle.
• Lead or support analysis and implementation of EU Data Act, EU AI Act, GDPR and related regulation.
• Translate regulatory requirements into product requirements, controls and governance.
• Carry out regulatory impact assessments for products and services.
• Promote compliance‑by‑design throughout development lifecycle.
• Support governance of AI systems and AI‑enabled products.
