Job Description
HMP Lowdham Grange is a Category B prison in Nottinghamshire and sits within the Directorate of Security (DoS). It holds over 880 men convicted of a range of offences and accommodated across 14 wings and one Care and Separation Unit.
The prison is currently going through a period of exciting change and development following its transition to HMPPS and the Long Term High Secure Estate (LTHSE) within DoS .
We are currently looking to expand and develop our Psychology Team to work with us and wider colleagues to establish and embed a range of initiatives within our department and the wider establishment. If being part of a new team, developing and shaping a service, defining a culture, and developing clinical-operational partnerships across a prison is something you are interested in, then this is a great opportunity, it really is a unique opportunity for Psychologists.
You would be based solely at Lowdham Grange. We are an onsite team, with visibility and developing clinical-operational partnerships throughout the establishment a key priority. The role will be clinical lead for an area of work for the department and the wider establishment, working directly with operational staff and governors. The development of our trainees is also a focus in DoS and we see all qualified staff as key to this. For band 8s this will be a coordinating/clinical supervisor for qualification routes and you will also line manage the Lowdham trainees.
