Job Description:

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Registered general nurse level 1/ Diploma / BSc in Nursing studies.
  • Evidence of relevant clinical professional development, preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration.
  • Mentorship Qualification (ENB 998 or equivalent).
  • Awareness of NMC Code of Accountability.
  • Excellent clinical applied knowledge evidenced-based and aligned with national best practice standards.
  • Basic workload / shift management skills.
  • Understanding of workload and shift management.
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including software and systems.
Duties of this role include:
  • Maintain standards of patient care in accordance with operational policies and procedures, enhancing customer service and satisfaction.
  • Promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of patients, staff, and consultants, acting as an advocate, especially for junior team members.
  • Deputise for the Sister/Charge Nurse and lead on clinical shifts when appropriate.
  • Provide individualised patient care of excellent standards.
  • Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients and demonstrate courage to raise concerns about care.
  • Conduct oneself professionally within the NMC Codes of Conduct and HCPC standards.
