Job summary

Abbey Healthcare is seeking a senior nurse to lead clinical care in our home, ensuring person-centred nursing and safe medicines management. You will act as the on-duty senior clinician, supervise staff, and liaise with GPs and external professionals to deliver high-quality resident care.

The role requires active NMC PIN, a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and regulatory standards. Flexible shifts including weekends may apply.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with active NMC PIN and current practicum eligibility.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a care setting.
• Knowledge of NMC Standards of Proficiency, medicines management, safeguarding, and CI/CQC regulations; familiarity with dementia, mental health and long-term conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assess service users’ needs and develop, implement, and evaluate personalised care plans.
• Monitor and maintain electronic care plans and eMAR systems.
• Ensure safe administration of medications per NMC standards.
• Keep accurate nursing records in line with regulations.
• Promote evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
• Support residents through one-to-one and group activities.
• Liaise with GPs and external healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
