Overview
BRS is looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Refrigeration Engineer to join our team. This role will involve planned and reactive service, attending breakdowns, fault-finding, and maintenance works across a variety of Commercial and Industrial refrigeration systems. The successful candidate will also contribute to customer relationship management, internal project support, and business development activities.
Please note: This is a field-based role requiring UK-wide travel, with active work across both Northern and Southern regions. Travel to client sites is an essential and regular part of the job.
Role Requirements
- F-GAS Qualification with NVQ Level II (NVQ III or higher is advantageous)
- Experience in commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of Commercial & Industrial refrigeration equipment and chillers using HFC/HFO refrigerants
- Full UK driving licence
- Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and effective at time management
Responsibilities
- Perform planned and reactive service work
- Attend breakdowns and carry out fault-finding
- Complete maintenance on a variety of systems including Chillers, Process Cooling Systems, Blast Freezers, Spiral Freezers, and Walk-In units
- Manage customer expectations on service and maintenance contracts
- Act as the first point of contact for business development with existing clients
- Communicate with BRS Management and Projects Team
- Plan materials and engineer requirements with admin team for follow-up works
- Support the management of equipment RAG statuses to sites and feedback insights to Projects teams (in weekly review meetings)

Location
This is a mobile role with UK-wide travel, covering both North and South Regions.
Package
- Hours: 40 hours per week basic, paid door to door
- Overtime:
- x1.5 weekdays and Saturdays
- x2 Sundays and Bank Holidays
- On-Call: Approx. 1 in 7 rota
- £150 standby allowance per week
- Call outs paid at overtime rates (x1.5 & x2)
Vehicle and Equipment
- Sign-written company van provided, available for both business and private use
- Company-issued laptop for reporting and communication
- Samsung Android phone with installed service/reporting package
