GLL, Lewisham's Forest Hill Pools Leisure Centre, invites applications for a Senior Lifeguard. You will lead a lifeguard team, mentor staff, and ensure both customer safety and pool hygiene are maintained to the highest standards.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and regular pool-side leadership. This is a full-time position with progression opportunities within the UK’s leading leisure provider.

Qualifications

• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and up-to-date training records.
• Experience leading lifeguard teams and working in a busy leisure facility.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety protocols.

Responsabilités

• Supervise the lifeguard team and manage pool rotations.
• Oversee pool area cleaning and equipment setup.
• Deliver first-class customer service and respond to queries.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and staff training is maintained.

As aSenior Lifeguard,you’lloversee a team of lifeguards, acting as a mentor and role model, andbe responsible forsome staff training.Senior Lifeguardshave real attention to detail asyou’llbe ensuring the safety of our customers as well as the cleanliness of the pool environment.Senior Lifeguardsare responsible forthe maintenance and preparation of areas and equipment asappropriate, soyou’llneed to be hard working and have a conscientious attitude. Excellent communication and social skills are necessary asyou’lloften be the first point of contact for customers. Health and safetyisparamount, therefore attendance at regular pool training sessions isa must.

Whatyou’lldo:

• Supervise the lifeguard team.
• You will experience regular pool rotations.
• Supervising and cleaning the pool area.
• Setting up equipment.
• Deliver first-class customer service.
• Deal with customer queries.
• When not poolside, you will be a key support to your teamon a daily basisfrom preparing Studios, Gyms, or Sports Halls for various activities to the general cleaning and upkeep of the centre.

This is a full time permanent position. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service, flexible working may be possible, working from home is not possible in this role.
