Job description

Are you a passionate and experienced Recovery Practitioner looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Recovery Practitioner (Band 6) to join our Theatres / Day Stay Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality post-operative care while developing your leadership skills.

About the Role:
  • Deliver outstanding, safe, and evidence-based care to post-operative patients.
  • Support the professional development of yourself and your colleagues.
  • Take on a lead role within the Recovery department, as identified by the Matron/Senior Theatre team.

Work Pattern:

We operate a six-day working week (Monday – Saturday) to help reduce elective surgery waiting times. You will be expected to work some weekends on a rotational basis.

Clinical Professional Responsibilities:
  1. To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients by assessing care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating them without supervision.
  2. To maintain personal contact with patients, carers, relatives and to show sensitivity to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy.
  3. To act as an effective role model, whilst being an expert resource providing excellent quality care for patients and a knowledge base for colleagues.
  4. To maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation while ensuring and respecting confidentiality.
  5. To assist in the leadership and development of an identified group of practitioners within the unit compliment.
  6. The post holder is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing care of patients.
  7. Communicating with and assisting surgical teams in promoting excellence in care using a multi-disciplinary approach.
  8. To provide expert, evidence-based care within the specialty.
  9. The post holder will ensure that standards are met as per national and local guidelines, including National Frameworks.
